Success doesn’t happen overnight.

Rachael Ray had been in the kitchen for more than 25 years before she convinced a publisher to meet with her. All she asked for was help. She was smart enough to know that she didn’t have a lot of leverage, but she knew that her idea was a good one.

When we start our MLM business we don’t have any leverage either, but we fail to realize that by asking for help, we may be speaking to somebody who does a lot more than just help us. It’s doubtful that if she had made the pitch over the phone that she would have ever been published. Whenever you can meet face to face, do it and don’t pitch your MLM business over the phone.

Enthusiasm pays off.

It’s amazing how many people act so bored with their MLM opportunity. We can’t help it that we’ve always been enthusiastic; to us it just seems a lot more enjoyable being excited than being bored. It’s an undeniable fact that you’ll attract a lot more people if you’re fired up all the time instead of being MR. or MRS. doom and gloom.

Rachael Ray is about as enthusiastic as anybody you’ll ever meet, and yes, amazingly enough it annoys some people, but her enthusiasm is powerful and magnetic. Are you powerful and magnetic?

Being enthusiastic doesn’t cost you a dime, but it can make you a fortune!

You don’t have to be anything other than yourself.

So many people think that they have to be somebody they aren’t to be successful in MLM, but you don’t. Make sure you understand exactly what we’re saying… you can be you!

It’s important to understand that this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t work on improving your skills, and becoming a better you, than you are right now. However, you don’t have to be a great public speaker or the greatest recruiter in the world.

You don’t have to give up your principles and be a snake oil salesman either. You can be tremendously successful in MLM and still be a person of integrity. In fact, you should never sacrifice your principles trying to become successful. Be honest and be real.

You’ve just got to do, what you’ve got to do!

When Rachael was struggling she did whatever it took to become successful. When you want what you’ve never had, you must be willing to do what you’ve never done!

Did you know that at one point in her life she was doing cooking presentations in grocery stores? So, how does that relate to your MLM business? Do you wear a button or put out flyers?

People fail in MLM every day because some things are “beneath” them. When you really want to be successful, you’ll do things you never thought you’d do, but where’s the shame in that?

Watch 30 minute meals one time and ask yourself, does she look like she’s having fun? She loves every minute of it!

Every now and then we think about the struggle to be successful in MLM. It seemed awful back then, but now that we make enough money to do what we want every day of our lives it sure was worth it!

Learn to love the process of prospecting. Enjoy what you’re doing and don’t let the turkeys get you down. Send ‘em a postcard when you take your dream vacation. Lighten up, MLM isn’t brain surgery!

Personally, I think Rachael Ray is awesome, but much to my surprise, some people can’t stand her. There’s a website where people complain about how she looks, what she says and they actually complain that’s she’s too energetic!

Then there are the people who are angry because she’s not a real Chef. Does any of that sound familiar? Do people question your credentials? “I don’t know why Bob’s trying to teach people how to make money he’s been broke all of his life.” Do what Rachael does, ignore them. She says they have a right to their opinion.

We never thought of it that way before. People actually have a right to lead boring miserable lives, and if that’s what they want we should ignore them just like Rachael does.

Some of your strongest critics will probably be your family members. It may not be that way for you, but it sure is for a lot of people. When you become successful you can count on one thing, when they need money, your family members will come knocking on your door!

Rachael Ray may not be at your next meeting doing MLM training for your company, but she can teach all of us a few lessons on what it takes to become successful.

Imagine discovering that you were playing your favorite game by the wrong set of rules all your life. Here I was, playing my all time favorite game, Monopoly. And for some strange reason I decided to stop and read the directions.

Usually, I give out 1500 bucks to every person participating, and then place 500 big ones in the middle of the board to start off the free parking space pile. What’s more, is throughout the entire game all the money collected by the banker is placed on the free parking space too. So as you can imagine over time there is a mound of cash waiting for anyone who lands on the free parking space.

Well you’ll never guess what I discovered. As stated by the official Monopoly rules: Free Parking; A player landing on this place does not receive any money, property or reward of any kind. This is just a “free” resting-place.

You could imagine how surprised I was by this. For longer than I care to remember I just played along to a set of rules that I never thought to stop and question. This is the exact same feeling that came over me when I dug deeper in to network marketing.

For instance, people today are stuck on the dream that they can build a down line to China in network marketing. Network Marketing is not like it used to be 30 years ago when there were only a handful of companies like Amway, Mary Kay and a few others.

With today’s technology, it doesn’t take any more than 50 bucks worth of computer software to come up with an affiliate program. That’s right! There are a bunch of Joe Smoes out there cranking out new network marketing companies and affiliate programs that are sleeker, sexier, and promise boatloads more cash. This is why people are jumping out of moving cars to join other companies.

What about the idea of buying leads at 3 to 10 dollars a pop. More times than not you’re doing nothing but wasting your time talking to deadbeats who are broke-minded, negative, and down right nasty. You know, the kind of people you DON’T want in your organization.

Think about the heavy hitters in this industry: Joe Schroeder, Dennis Karganilla, Corey Whidbee, or Gregory “Big Brother” Drake. When was the last time they gave you a call to join their organization or joint venture deal? That would be like HBO, AOL, Rachael Ray, or Oprah giving you a call to buy their product.

You know why they don’t call you? Because, when you have people calling you for the 411 on your products they are way more qualified than someone you call. That’s just a known fact.

Or what about the idea of going through your own black book to build your downline. Pitch to your neighbor, pastor, family, the dog, or whatever poor soul is in a 3-foot radius of you. The idea is that you will get 3 who will get 3 who will get 3 and so forth.

You want to know why this will rarely work? It’s actually psychological.

When you pitch the idea to, let’s say, Bob, off the street to make an extra $2000 to $5000 a month it won’t register to him. A person’s internal world is 2 times bigger than what exist in the external world.

What does this mean? See Bob works a typical 9-5, grossing 35K a year after taxes. To Bob, internally, he is only worth 35K a year. So when you approach Bob with those figures he will automatically reject it because his self-worth is lower.

This is why the average MLMer is spinning his/her wheels buying leads, handing out magazines, or hosting in-home meetings. Do these things work? Sure. But it’s a hit or miss.

Wallace Wattles, author of The Science of Getting Rich, states that if you can do certain things in a certain way you will get rich with mathematical precision. There is a certain way to get rich in network marketing and it’s by being on the supply side. People who are offering systems, media, training, and leads are making the serious dough.

Take a step back and look at your business structure. Are you doing things in a certain way? Well, now that you know the rules, and it’s your decision on how you will keep playing.

I’ve just returned from visiting my friends in Italy They live in Siena, a town 65km from the city of Florence. Siena is the town in Italy, where the famous ‘Palio horse race’ is paraded around their town square. You can watch this spectacle from a bar overlooking this square, (its not square but round). Its covered with sand so the horses don’t hurt themselves.

Florence is the ‘City of Marble’, used on main buildings, the city has a large catholic cathedral, it is covered in marble, it looks wonderful, the marble is quarried in the mountains around this city. Now, Green marble is no more so if you have some green marble, keep it, could be worth money in the future.

I’ve visited Italy because of Italian Cooking. I love Italian cooking, so does my wife, it doesn’t have to be fattening, there are lots of fine dishes which don’t pile on the pounds, most are cooked in Italy everyday and, this is the Italian cooking I want to learn about.

I bought from the internet an e Book on simple Italian cooking which contains this type of Italian cooking. The reason I bought this e Book was, I had fell in love with Italian cooking. Not the type used in films, ie ’stuffed mole’, but the type used in Italian homes since before ‘Rome’, up to today.

My friends in Siena have a small farmhouse, with a large kitchen to help their students. Their farmhouse is in a small field just outside of Siena, in this field there are rows of olive tree’s, which could earn them an income without the visiting students’

I’m a student and also their friend, when I first visited them in Siena last year, I was asked to cook them a meal, they were astonished in how much knowledge I had of Italian cooking. They didn’t know I had my eBook on simple Italian cooking.

I made them a meal for them from my e Book, which has 104 recipes including, starters, main meals, desserts. So I made them a meal of,

Vegetable chowder, (minestrone alla Milanese).

Eggs, (Alla sciarmante),

Peaches with wine.

It took time to make this meal, but it was worth it. Next I had to bring them assorted wines, as I didn’t know this area of Italy, so this was a guess, I must of got the right mix, because they didn’t complain. They loved it, so we became good friends.

They would teach me how to prepare other meals, not just Lasagne. Meals that didn’t put on the pounds. Meals their mother would show them how to cook.

When I returned to England, I showed my wife and my boss the recipes I’ve learnt. They were surprised at my knowledge, I’ve been congradulated many times. I love Italian cooking, I don’t need to be told ‘the meal was good’..

When the Italian inspectors came to our restaurant, we knew they were close by. When they arrived at our restaurant, I could only hope that I had the experience and knowledge to pass their test. They ordered their meal of three courses with wine.

Then they told my boss who they were and wanted to commend our restaurant on our fine Italian cuisine. My boss was so happy we had passed, not like many in the USA or Europe.

The inspectors realised we knew how to cook Italian and were very happy to let us continue with our restaurant.

All because I bought an e Book.
